Dining Chairs +Inspiration

I have been itching for some different end chairs for my kitchen table. I like to pretend it’s a dining room, when in fact it is an eat in kitchen with only 4 chairs.  I figured by adding some upholstered end chairs it might make it a little more fancy, but I could be totally wrong and it could look ridiculous….we will see. There was a crazy sale at Home Decorators and I got 2 chairs with shipping for $200, so I figured what the heck. They are not my top pick, but since my table is small I needed something with a narrow depth which limits my choices.

During my chair hunt I came across some wooden chairs that would be perfect for any table at affordable prices. I love when simple pieces can make a statement…and that is exactly what these chairs do.

If you want to add accent chairs at the heads of the table these chairs would be great options……..It is also a good opportunity to add a pop of color or texture

Architectural Digest Home Design Show-Dining By Design 2012

Sunday I went to the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Chelsea Piers in NYC. It was so much fun looking at all the new and interesting products and designs from mostly local companies. There was a separate section called Dining By Design where designers and companies created “dining environments” with wonderfully set tables. Today, I am going to do a “recap” of my favorite dining areas and Thursday do a roundup of my favorite vendors.

The first room I saw was designed by Design Lush with a completely black and gold color scheme. The table and chairs looked like smoky glass and the chairs were upholstered in faux silver fox fur.

Do you see what the seating cards are held by….Slinkies….freakin 14 carat gold slinkies!!!! Brilliant!
