Living Libations- Cozy Cocktail

Nothing gives me that warm fuzzy feeling more than a crackling fireplace and a strong cocktail. November is the perfect month to cozy up around an outdoor fireplace with some drink, smores and people you love. This patio is the perfect inspiration…..or you can keep is gangsta with a metal garbage can and some lawn chairs

Backyard Breakdown

Last year Steve and I did a backyard renovation over the course of one weekend……. during a heatwave. There was a lot of sweat, tears, and fighting. Definitely not the romantic, bonding weekend I had invisioned it to be. Between the heat, lack of sleep, and physical labor, we each had our seperate melt downs that went a little something like “this is frigen ridiculous. it’s 100 degrees and were planting god damn trees, I dont even know what the hell we are doing. Im done, im done…lets gets a landscaper to do this sh*t, seriously” (I wonder what our neighbors were thinking) Luckily at those times, one of us was feeling positive and talked the other into completing the project, which I am glad because it does feel good to say we did this ourselves when we are enjoying the backyard. I wish I had pictures during the process, but they probably would have contained inappropriate gestures.

This is the backyard when we first bought the house

This is after we renovated the house and Steve used the backyard as a dump

Grand Tour-Castello Di Reschio

As the weather here in the East Coast becomes warmer, outdoor living obsession is in full effect. Since I am in the outdoor spirit I am doing what is only expected….sitting in my home goggling images of outdoor spaces. I came across a house in Italy with the most breathtaking views ever! This is where I want to retire. What’s the retirement age now…..like 80?? (I guess I should get me one of those pension things everyone is talking about) Ok, another 52 years and here I come Tuscany!

P.S Look out every window in every picture….it literally brings a tear to my eye.

The place is called Spinaltermine and it is on the Castello Di Reschio estate in Umbrian Italy, which borders Tuscany. It has 2,700 acres which has vineyards, olive groves and oak and chestnut woods. When renting this house, or others on the estate, it comes with 5 star concierge service, maids, cooks and drivers. It also has activities such as, horse riding, mountain biking and hiking. Also, the main town is only 20 minutes away, but who cares about that?
